SChool room

We built a fully-equipped classroom to enable the kids to study after school hours. The room contains extensive educational materials and has solar-powered lighting to provide an optimal space for learning.

Solar project

Kichwamba is a remote area in western Uganda. Electricity infrastructure is limited to the main town of Fort Portal, which is approximately 30km away. In order to make power available for the needs of the Foundation, as well as to serve the local community, we have installed solar paneling in several of KCF's buildings.

The solar power enables the children to have lighting in the evenings to continue their studies. It also supports small-scale business activities, including a barber shop and a phone-charging station that serves the local community.

We are hoping to expand the solar project in the coming years so that all the new buildings have access to power. This will also help our efforts to provide services to the local community.

animal rearing

KCF runs small-scale farming projects which focus on animal rearing. We have built a pen for rabbits, goats and pigs. These animals provide a source of income for the Foundation, and the children all participate in their care.
