Meet the KCF team

Rachael (Holt) burkholder, Founder and director

Rachael started KCF in 2011 while working in Uganda. She spends all her spare time trying to build and strengthen the Foundation and adores the children with all her heart. Rachael oversees KCF's strategy, finances, operations, and programs. She works closely with the local staff to support all day-to-day activities, and visits as often as possible. In addition to running the Foundation, Rachael is the CEO of House Ninja, a property technology company. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter.

Geoffrey holt, co-founder and director

Geoff co-founded the Foundation in 2011 with Rachael. Since that time, he has provided significant financial support and also participates in oversight and decision-making regarding KCF's activities and future. Without Geoff's help and hard work, KCF wouldn't exist, let alone have become what it is today. He returns to see the kids whenever he is able to take time away from his cardiology practice in Brisbane, Australia. 


benjamin tumusiime, manager

Benjamin joined KCF as the Manager in 2014. He has an extensive background in community engagement, having worked with NGOs for many years. He serves as the Principal of a local school and is a respected leader in the community. Benjamin works closely with Rachael to make the operational decisions for KCF and oversees all the finances and activities on the ground. He is passionate about educating children and is focused on empower the KCF kids to build better futures for themselves.

angella kEMBABAZI

Angella joined the KCF team in 2013. She serves as the Coordinator, and plays a crucial role in managing the accounting and monitoring the children's activities and schooling. She provides guidance for the children and is the Special Supervisor of the KCF girls. 

Angella has a degree in social work from Mountains of the Moon University in Fort Portal and specializes in management of community-based organizations. 


IVAN KUSEMERERWA

Ivan is KCF's Home Supervisor. He is a trained educator, and has spent many years teaching children (as well as volunteering to support low-income children in his spare time). He cares deeply for young people and is excited to make a difference in the lives of the KCF kids.

He works with the children daily and oversees all the home activities. He supervises the premises and oversees after-school activities, particularly related to education (he specializes in mathematics, but assists in all areas). 


rICHARD AlITUHA

Richard is responsible for maintaining the house and planning the children's nutrition. He lives on the premises and is the first one awake in the morning to help the kids prepare for school. Richard is closely involved in all the daily activities around the home and ensures that things are running smoothly. He cares deeply for the children and is a constant source of guidance and support. 


CHRIS MUTAGEKI

Chris supervises the children at home, and supports all of the daily activities of keeping the living space safe, happy and healthy. He assists the children with their chores and helps to keep them organized and engaged. Chris has been a wonderful addition to the KCF team and the children love him very much.
